Therapy and Equipment Needs Study (TEN)

The need for therapy and equipment for people with cerebral palsy of all ages, has seen the CP Australia committed to placing this long-standing agenda firmly on the national stage.

With generous funding of $75,000 from the Telstra Foundation and CP Australia membership contributions of $100,000, the first ever study on therapy and equipment needs for people with cerebral palsy in Australia commenced in March 2005. The study is a joint project of the CP Australia and the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW). It will be conducted by a highly skilled multidisciplinary research team at AIHW, working with a strong team of CP Australia State and Territory project officers, led by an CP Australia Project Managers Paula Dyke and Anita Ghose from the Cerebral Palsy Association of Western Australia.

The study demands the production of high quality, robust information that will inform stakeholders and policy makers in the disability field and key areas of government. Ros Madden, Head of the Disability Unit at AIHW will have the overarching responsibility of leading the project.
